Gratitude describes how I feel about this work and my healing practice. It has been a process to discover my true vocation. I am a nurse and a healer, I've been a caregiver in many forms for 25 years, I became a registered nurse and have worked in hospitals and nursing homes for 15 years. About 10 years ago I was gripped with excitement when, while attending a personal growth seminar, the announcement was made that reiki training would be available. I knew this excitement was the passion I was seeking to guide me towards my true purpose. That class started me on a treasure hunt, which lead me to my vocational purpose that encompasses all my unique gifts and experiences. I received the necessary training to become licensed as a massage therapist thus giving me a "license to touch" and the ability to support myself doing what I love.
I have studied and practiced energy medice techniques on my own for years really enjoying healing circles working with other healers with multiple hands on treatments. Working with people on a personal level in tune with them and my inner guidance for healing is my passion, like nothing I've experienced before.
With CST training I learned about the effect that restrictions have on the body. When there are restrictions in our tissues, the body has to work harder to achieve balance or homeostasis. Whether the restriction is in the muscles, craniosacral system, or lymph system, I have the the training to go lightly to that level and support your body to release the restriction, with intention, knowledge of anatomy and intuition. My greatest fascination is with Lymph Drainage Therapy, as it is a greatly needed healing modality focusing on the stress that inflammation and swelling causes our bodies, triggering lists of disease states.
I have personal experience with chronic pain and have sought this bodywork prior to my massage training, and understand chronic pain and massage therapies works!
I am listed in the International Association of HealthCare Practitioners at http://www.iahp.com/pages/search/
